Beant Singh, CEO
The 21st century is a digital book; recent advancements in video technology and the growing advent of data analytics have laid the cornerstone for some of the most innovative developments in video surveillance applications. Additionally, remote monitoring gained pace during COVID-19, causing a sudden rise in demand in the video surveillance market. A large number of enterprises all over the world use video surveillance to monitor their assets and daily process. However, quite often, the built-in hard drives for storing video are susceptible to failure and there is no system in place to warn the user of an impending failure to avoid a potential loss of data. Moreover, security cameras are susceptible to power outages, resulting in a gap in the surveillance. This is where Oviss Labs comes in, founded to tackle these problems effectively with its product offerings.
Oviss Labs offers state-of-the-art video surveillance products and services, providing fully managed commercial security camera systems with a 99 percent uptime to keep their customers 100 percent worry-free. To alleviate the problems being faced by the video surveillance industry, Oviss Labs uses a minimum of two onboard hard-drives for data storage. This ensures non-stop recording even if one drive fails. In addition, the company offers IP cameras and network video recorders (NVR), which are hosted on the enterprise’s servers. One of the unique offerings of Oviss Labs is its cloud-based diagnostics that monitor the health of the video surveillance systems at the enterprise round the clock, placing business owners’ minds at ease. “Our full-time cloud-based device health and monitoring sends immediate alerts to our support team in case of a system failure, enabling the enterprise to recover within a matter of minutes,” explains Beant Singh, CEO, Oviss labs.
Over the years, Oviss Labs has evolved from being a CCTV installation company to a solution provider that offers customized solutions to enterprises, monitors the health of the systems, and troubleshoots any faults. Once a business approaches Oviss Labs to find solutions to their problems, a highly skilled team evaluates their needs and takes into account all perspectives the business may need. Thereafter, a site survey is conducted with a technician who uses surveyor software that points out the suitable camera locations. The technical specifications of the camera installations are then decided, such as height, angle of camera’s field of view (FOV), and lens type to provide the best results. “We take point of view (POV) pictures from where the camera is installed to assess their coverage and the client gets to see before they decide, helping them make an informed decision,” explains Singh.
Oviss Labs delivers some of the most distinguished services in the video surveillance market, with applications in commercial-grade security cameras, lifetime warranty, and technical support on their products. In addition, the company furnishes incident recordings for the enterprise by simply submitting a surveillance recording request. Moreover, they also offer free upgrades for the NVR system every five years and several user training sessions to enterprises, which differentiate Oviss Labs from their counterparts in the market and give them an edge.
Singh narrates one of the many use cases where a firm hired Oviss Labs to install about 30 cameras at their site. Coincidentally, while the project was underway, the client had an incident wherein an employee claimed to have fallen from the office stairs. Fortunately, one of the cameras facing the stairwell caught the incident. The recordings were reviewed and it was later found that the claim was false, preventing lawsuits and court disputes. The client was so impressed by the outcome that they decided to install a total of 200 cameras spanning every corner of the building.

For the future, Oviss Labs intends to further make its solutions robust by integrating with a cloud service provider to perform additional analytics on the surveillance system. This will be done with the aid of artificial intelligence and machine learning, making the security system more proactive.
